The application process
1. Check your eligibility/timeframe
Funding applications are open to each sector for a limited time every quarter and may close at any time (once limits are reached). Applications are typically accepted during the quarter (3-months) prior to the training start date. Check your region for details.
2. Submit your application
You’ll need all relevant info about your training including total cost, dates, and category (see sidebar).
The approval process can take up to 60 days—you will be notified by email as soon as the decision is made. If you are approved, you will need to complete the agreement issued.
3. Pay all training costs and begin training
The employer pays the full training amount upfront.
4. Apply for reimbursement
After training begins, you will have up to 30 days to claim reimbursement. You can expect to be reimbursed within 30-90 days of submitting the claim, depending on the province.
Training costs include:
- Tuition/participation fees
